The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

1). The context of this passage about the third angel, gives us a remarkable picture. It is that God, in His love, mercy, and grace is going to the extent of sending a angel flying through heaven warning folks not to worship the beast or take his mark.
a). Revelation 14:9-12 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
2). What must be understood that between the revealing of the anti-christ and the return of THE Christ is only three and a half years. Much is going to happen in those three and a half years and the Apostle Paul wrote of these specific days.
a). 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
3). An explanation must be given for the last two verses in that passage, 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12: 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” It looks like God is making sure these folks believe the deception of the anti-christ and end up in hell. What we must realize is that at the same time the anti-christ is trying to deceive people with “...all power and signs and lying wonders…” and “...with all deceivableness of unrighteousness…”, God is sending an angel to fly over the earth and warn them not to take the mark of the beast. God is not schizophrenic, nor is he the deceiver, the devil is the deceiver (Revelation 20:1-3). It is the devil that blinds people to the truth of the gospel.
a). 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
4). We must remember that it is God’s will that everybody be saved.
a). 1 Timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
b). 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
5). During the last three and a half years of the tribulation period there will be millions who reject the gospel, who reject the saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and because of “...all power and signs and lying wonders…” and “...with all deceivableness of unrighteousness…” by the devil, they will be further entrenched in deception. It is not God doing the deceiving, He is allowing them to walk in their free will to reject the truth and believe deception and end up in hell.
