Matthew 10:32

Matthew 10:32

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

a. confess [3670 * homologeo; homo-same; lego-to speak] [Vine: literally to speak the same thing; to agree with…in Matthew 10:32, to declare openly be way of speaking out freely, such confession being the effect of deep conviction of facts.]

b. There is more than one way to deny Christ. In the following passage the person is proclaiming Christ with his mouth but with his behavior he denies Him.

1). Titus 1:15, 16 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

a). defiled [3392 * maino] [Vine: primarily, to stain, to tinge or dye with another color…to pollute, contaminate, soil; in Titus of moral defilement.
