And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

1). Even in Ahab’s ungodliness and rebellion, God was still reaching out to him to show Ahab God’s goodness. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance.

a). Romans 2:4 [Classic Amplified] Or are you [so blind as to] trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience? Are you unmindful or actually ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will)?
