1 Kings 20:14 

And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.

1). Even in Ahab’s ungodliness and rebellion, God was still reaching out to him to show Ahab God’s goodness. This was after the confrontation with the prophets of Baal that ended the drought (1 Kings 18), and the death sentence declared by Jezebel (1 Kings 19:1, 2). It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance.
