Joshua 3:11

 

Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.

 

a. NLT: Look, the Ark of the Covenant, which belongs to the Lord of the whole earth, will lead you across the Jordan River!

 

b. NIV: See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.

 

c. YLT: lo, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is passing over before you into Jordan;

1. “Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth…”

b. the ark [Strong: 727 * 'arown aw-rone' or laron {aw-rone'}; from 717 (in the sense of gathering); a box:--ark, chest, coffin.]

 

c. of the covenant [Strong:1285 * briyth ber-eeth' from 1262 (in the sense of cutting (like 1254)); a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):--confederacy, (con-)feder(-ate), covenant, league.]

 

d. of the Lord [Strong: 113 * 'adown aw-done' or (shortened) adon {aw-done'}; from an unused root (meaning to rule); sovereign, i.e. controller (human or divine):-- lord, master, owner.]
