For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

b. [there be] debates [Strong: 2054 éris, er'-is; of uncertain affinity; a quarrel, i.e. (by implication) wrangling:—contention, debate, strife, variance.]

c. envyings [Strong: 2205 zēlos, dzay'-los; from G2204; properly, heat, i.e. (figuratively) "zeal" (in a favorable sense, ardor; in an unfavorable one, jealousy, as of a husband (figuratively, of God), or an enemy, malice):—emulation, envy(-ing), fervent mind, indignation, jealousy, zeal.]

d. wraths [Strong: 2372 thymós, thoo-mos'; from G2380; passion (as if breathing hard):—fierceness, indignation, wrath.]

e. strifes [Strong: 2052 eritheía, er-ith-i'-ah; perhaps as the same as G2042; properly, intrigue, i.e. (by implication) faction:—contention(-ious), strife.]

f. backbitings [Strong: 2636  katalalía, kat-al-al-ee'-ah; from G2637; defamation:—backbiting, evil speaking.]

g. whisperings [Strong: 5587 psithyrismós, psith-oo-ris-mos'; from a derivative of ψίθος psíthos (a whisper; by implication, a slander; probably akin to G5574); whispering, i.e. secret detraction:—whispering.]

h. swellings [Strong: 5450 physíōsis, foo-see'-o-sis; from G5448; inflation, i.e. (figuratively) haughtiness:—swelling.]

i. tumults [Strong: 181 akatastasía, ak-at-as-tah-see'-ah; from G182; instability, i.e. disorder:—commotion, confusion, tumult.]
