Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

1). Victor Buksbazen, Executive Director Friends of Israel: Isaiah 66:7-9 expresses the amazement at the speedy rebirth of the nations and the land. 

a). The rebirth of Israel as a nation in 1948.

2). Dake: The earth bringing forth in one day and the nation being born at once refer to the conversion by God of the remnant of Israel, the ones left in Palestine after the tribulation (Zechariah 12:10-13; Matthew 24:15-22). At this time the second advent of Christ , ⅔ of Israel will have been destroyed (Zechariah 13:8, 9; Romans 11:25-29).

3). John MacArthur: Here is another comparison with the human birth process (See Isaiah 13:8), this time to teach two lessons: 1). No birth can come until labor have occurred (vv, 7, 8); and 2).. When labor occurs, birth will surely follow (v. 9); Cf. Jeremiah 30:6; Matthew 24:8; 1 Thessalonians 5:3. The point is that Israel’s suffering  will end with a delivery! The Lord will not impose travail on the remnant without  bringing them to the kingdom Isaiah 66:10.
