 Philippians 2:27

For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

1. “For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him…”

Jesus granted them the mercy of healing, proving that healing is a mercy as well as forgiveness. The sick, in those days, when seeking healing, asked for mercy. In our day most people think of mercy as applied only to the sinner, not knowing that His mercy is also extended to the sick.
