I have spread out My hands all the day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts—

1. “I have spread out My hands all the day long to a rebellious people… ”

b. 2. “...who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts—”

[their own] thoughts machăshâbâh, makh-ash-aw-baw'; or מַחֲשֶׁבֶת machăshebeth; from H2803; a contrivance, i.e. (concretely) a texture, machine, or (abstractly) intention, plan (whether bad, a plot; or good, advice):—cunning (work), curious work, device(-sed), imagination, invented, means, purpose, thought.]

1). Victor Buksbazen, Isaiah Commentary: The question arises who are they who did not seek Jehovah and yet found Him? The majority of Jewish commentators are of the opinion that God addresses Himself  to the same people, that is the Jews, in both verses Isaiah 65:1, 2. On the other hand Christian commentators usually apply Isaiah 65:1 to the Gentiles and isaiah 65:2 to the jews, which seems to be the meaning. 

2). Paul applies Isaiah 65:1, 2 to the calling of the Gentiles cited in Romans 10:20. For context purposes I have put verses Romans 10:18-21. 

a). Romans 10:18-21 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

10:20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

10:21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
