And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

a. NLT: In another battle with the Philistines at Gath, they encountered a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in all, who was also a descendant of the giants.

1). Within this whole passage of 2 Samuel 21:15-22 only the two separate battles in 2 Samuel 21:18 & 19 and the battle in 2 Samuel 21:20 are given a location. The location for this battle is in Gath.

2. “…where was a man of great stature…”

a. 4. “…and he also was born to the giant.”

1). Ishbibenob in 2 Samuel 21:16, Saph or Sippai in 2 Samuel 21:18, and the unnamed giant in 2 Samuel 21:20 are all referred to as “sons of the giant” or “born to the giant”. But the giant in 2 Samuel 21:19 is referred to as “the brother of” Goliath. Just as 1 Chronicles 20:5, where he is named “Lahmi”. So this is referring to three of these giants being sons to Goliath or his brother Lahmi.
