Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

1). Joseph’s strength came from his knowledge of and relationship with God. I am reminded of a passage in Psalm 1:1-3 concerning being fruitful in circumstances that hinder fruitfulness. Surely Joseph reflected on the dreams that God gave him to carry and carry him through his persecutions.

a). Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

2). Joseph named his second son Ephriam.

a). Genesis 41:52  And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

2. “...whose branches run over the wall:”
