1 Timothy 3:5

(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

a. ASV: (but if a man knoweth not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
  
b. YLT: (and if any one his own house how to lead hath not known, how an assembly of God shall he take care of?)

1. “(For if a man know not how to rule his own house…”

a. For [Strong: 1161 dé, deh; a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:—also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).]

e. not [Strong: 3756 ou, oo; a primary word; the absolute negative (compare G3361) adverb; no or not:—+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but.]

g. his own [Strong: 2398 ídios, id'-ee-os; of uncertain affinity; pertaining to self, i.e. one's own; by implication, private or separate:—X his acquaintance, when they were alone, apart, aside, due, his (own, proper, several), home, (her, our, thine, your) own (business), private(-ly), proper, severally, their (own).]
h. house [Strong: 3624  oîkos, oy'-kos; of uncertain affinity; a dwelling (more or less extensive, literal or figurative); by implication, a family (more or less related, literally or figuratively):—home, house(-hold), temple.]
2.  “...how shall he take care of the church of God?)”

a. how [Strong: 4459  pōs, poce; adverb from the base of G4226; an interrogative particle of manner; in what way? (sometimes the question is indirect, how?); also as exclamation, how much!:—how, after (by) what manner (means), that. (Occasionally unexpressed in English).]
