The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

b. NIV: The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

c. YLT: The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;

d. Amplified Bible: The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.

e. Worrell Translation: The Spirit Himself testifieth with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

1. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit…”

a. The Spirit [4151 * pneuma] [Strong: from 4154; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind.]

b. itself [846 * autos] [Strong: from the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative 1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]

c. beareth witness [4828 * summartureo] [Strong: from 4862 and 3140; to testify jointly, i.e. corroborate by (concurrent) evidence:--testify unto, (also) bear witness (with).]

d. with our [2257 * hemon] [Strong: genitive case plural of 1473; of (or from) us:--our (company), us, we.]

e. spirit [4151 * pneuma] [Strong: from 4154; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind.]

1). The Holy Spirit bears witness in our spirits.

a). 1 John 5:9, 10 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

2. “…that we are the children of God:”

a. that [3754 * hoti] [Strong: neuter of 3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because:--as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why.]

b. we are [2070 * semen] [Strong: first person plural indicative of 1510; we are:--are, be, have our being, X have hope, + (the gospel) was (preached unto) us.]

c. the children [5043 * teknon] [Strong: from the base of 5098; a child (as produced):--child, daughter, son.]

d. of God [2316 * theos] [Strong: of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]
