Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. “Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith…”

a. Peace [Strong: 1515 eirene i-ray'-nay probably from a primary verb eiro (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity:--one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.]

b. [be] to the [Strong: 3588 ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.]

c. brethren [Strong: 80 adephos ad-el-fos' from 1 (as a connective particle) and delphus (the womb); a brother (literally or figuratively) near or remote (much like 1):--brother.]

Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

1. “Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose…”

a. Whom [Strong: 3739 hós, hos; probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article G3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:—one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc.]

b. I have sent [Strong: 3992 pempo pem'-po apparently a primary verb; to dispatch (from the subjective view or point of departure, whereas hiemi (as a stronger form of eimi) refers rather to the objective point or terminus ad quem, and 4724 denotes properly, the orderly motion involved), especially on a temporary errand; also to transmit, bestow, or wield:--send, thrust in.]

But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

2. “…Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:”

a. Tychicus [Strong: 5190 Tychikós, too-khee-kos'; from a derivative of G5177; fortuitous, i.e. fortunate; Tychicus, a Christian:—Tychicus.]

1). Unger’s Bible Dictionary: We first meet him as a companion of the apostle during a portion of his return hourney from thethird missionary tour (Acts 20:4). He is there expressly called (with Trophimus) a native of Asial Minor; but while Trophimus went with Paul to Jerusalem (Acts 21:29), Tycicus was left behind in Asia, probably at Miletus (Acts 20:15, 38). In Paul’s first imprisonment he was with the Apostle again (Colossians 4:7, 8; Ephesians 6:21, 22). The next reference to him is in Titus 3:12. Here Paul (writing possibly from Ephesus) says that it is probable he may send Tychicus to Crete, about the time when he himself goes to Nicopolis. In 2 Timothy 4:12 (written at Rome during the second imprisonment), he says, “I am herewith sending Tychicus to Ephesus.” There is much prbablyin the conjecture that Tychicus was one of the two “brethren” )Trophimus being the other) who were associated with Titus (2 Corinthians 8:16-24)in conducting the business of the collection for the poor Christians in Judea.  

b. a beloved [Strong: 27 agapētós, ag-ap-ay-tos'; from G25; beloved:—(dearly, well) beloved, dear.]

c. brother [Strong: 80 adelphós, ad-el-fos'; from G1 (as a connective particle) and δελφύς delphýs (the womb); a brother (literally or figuratively) near or remote (much like G1):—brother.]

d. and [Strong: 2532 kai kahee apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

e. faithful [Strong: 4103 pistós, pis-tos'; from G3982; objectively, trustworthy; subjectively, trustful:—believe(-ing, -r), faithful(-ly), sure, true.]

f. minister [Strong: 1249 diákonos, dee-ak'-on-os; probably from an obsolete διάκω diákō (to run on errands; compare G1377); an attendant, i.e. (genitive case) a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specially, a Christian teacher and pastor (technically, a deacon or deaconess):—deacon, minister, servant.]

g. in [Strong: 1722 en, en; a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between G1519 and G1537); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.:—about, after, against, + almost, × altogether, among, × as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), × mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, × outwardly, one, × quickly, × shortly, (speedi-)ly, × that, × there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). i. shall make known [Strong: 1107 gnōrízō, gno-rid'-zo; from a derivative of G1097; to make known; subjectively, to know:—certify, declare, make known, give to understand, do to wit, wot.]
