1 Kings 6:1
And
it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of
Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's
reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of
the LORD.
a. NLT: It
was in midspring, in the month of Ziv, during the fourth year of Solomon’s
reign, that he began to construct the Temple of the LORD. This was 480 years
after the people of Israel were rescued from their slavery in the land of
Egypt.
b. NIV: In
the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites came out of
Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv,
the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
c.
Young’s Literal Translation: And it cometh to pass, in the four hundred and
eightieth year of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,
in the fourth year -- in the month of Zif, it is the second
month -- of the reigning of Solomon over Israel, that he buildeth the house for
Jehovah.
d.
Amplified Bible Classic: And 480 years
after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of
Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the second month, Ziv, he began to build the
Lord’s house.
e.
Septuagint: And it came to pass in the four hundred and fortieth year after the
departure of the children of Israel out of Egypt, in the fourth year and second
month of the reign of king Solomon over Israel, 17 that the king
commanded that they should take great and costly stones for the
foundation of the house, and hewn stones. 18 And the men of Solomon,
and the men of Chiram hewed the stones, and laid them for a
foundation.
1). The
Septuagint verse is seemingly a mixed up end of Chapter 5. Verse 17 is out of
order and there are two verse 18’s. In my ignorance I have no clue.
2). The
Septuagint version differs from the Hebrew text. Septuagint: 440 years; Hebrew
text: 480 years.
f. Stone
Edition Torah/Writings/Prophets: In the four hundred and eightieth year after
the Children of zisrael’s exodus from the land of Egypt—in the fourth year of
Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month—he
built the Temple for HASHEM.

1). This
is self-explanatory. 480 after Israel came out of Egypt, Solomon began to build
the Temple of the LORD. This also was the fourth year of Solomon’s reign as
king and it was the second month of the Hebrew calendar. The last two verses of
the chapter tell us that it took Solomon 7 years to build the Temple of the
LORD.
a). 1
Kings 6:37, 38 In the
fourth year was the foundation of the house of the Lord laid, in the
month Zif:
6:38 And
in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the
house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the
fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
