1). There is no doubt that the Spirit of God led Joseph in all his dealings with the Egyptians and the rest of the world regarding the time of the famine and afterward. In using Joseph to carry out the wisdom of God during this time it is a fact that God in his love and compassion for the world saved the word from starvation.

a). Genesis 41:38-44 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

41:39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

41:40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41:41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

41:42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

41:43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

41:44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

2). Jacob was 130 years old when he came to Egypt (Gen 47:9). When Jacob came to Egypt there were 5 more years of famine Genesis 45:6. Jacob lived twelve years after the famine had ended, because he lived to the age of 147 Genesis 47:28. Jacob was 135 when the famine ended. Joseph was 30 when he became leader of Egypt Genesis 41:46. He was 44 when the famine ended. He lived to 110 Genesis 50:26. He probably led Egypt for many more decades until his death. Though it is not mentioned.
