1 Thessalonians 3:8
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
a. NLT: It gives us new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord.
b. NIV: For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.
c. YLT: Because now we live, if ye may stand fast in the Lord;
d. Amplified Bible Classic: Because now we [really] live, if you stand [firm] in the Lord.
e. Worrell Translation: Because now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
f. Wuest Translation: Because now we are [really] living, if, as for you, you are standing fast in the Lord.
1. “For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.”
a. For [Strong: 3754 hoti hot'-ee neuter of 3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because:--as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why.]
b. now [Strong: 3568 nun noon a primary particle of present time; "now" (as adverb of date, a transition or emphasis); also as noun or adjective present or immediate:--henceforth, + hereafter, of late, soon, present, this (time).]
c. we live [Strong: 2198 zao dzah'-o a primary verb; to live (literally or figuratively):--life(-time), (a-)live(-ly), quick.] [Thayer: to enjoy real life, to have true life and worthy of the name, active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God.]
1). This is speaking of the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
