2 Corinthians 7:11
For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort,
what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what
indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea,
what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this
matter.
a. NLT: Just see what this godly sorrow
produced in you! Such earnestness, such concern to clear yourselves, such
indignation, such alarm, such longing to see me, such zeal, and such a
readiness to punish wrong. You showed that you have done everything necessary
to make things right.
b. NIV: See what this godly sorrow has
produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what
indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see
justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this
matter.
c. YLT: for, lo, this same thing -- your
being made sorry toward God -- how much diligence it doth work in you! but
defence, but displeasure, but fear, but longing desire, but zeal, but revenge;
in every thing ye did approve yourselves to be pure in the matter.
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For
[you can look back now and] observe what this same godly sorrow has done for
you and has produced in you: what eagerness and earnest
care to explain and clear yourselves [of all complicity
in the condoning of incest], what indignation [at the sin], what alarm, what
yearning, what zeal [to do justice to all concerned], what readiness to mete
out punishment [to the offender]! At every point you have proved yourselves
cleared and guiltless in the matter.
e. Worrell Translation: For, behold this very
thing—that ye were made sorry after a godly manner—what diligence it wrought in
you; yea, what defense of yourselves; yea, what indignation; yea, what fear;
yea, what earnest desire; yea, what zeal; yea, what avenging! I everything ye
proved yourselves to be pure in this matter.

1). Biblical repentance
will produce fruits or actions in an individual’s life that can be witnessed by
those around them that should be evident. John the Baptist exhorted those he preached to, to bring them forth.
Matthew 3:1-8 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the
wilderness of Judaea,
3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make
his paths straight.
3:4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern
girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region
round about Jordan,
3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his
baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee
from the wrath to come?
3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
