Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

i. thousand [Strong: 3461. murias moo-ree'-as from 3463; a ten-thousand; by extension, a "myriad" or indefinite number:--ten thousand.]

1). When I got saved I gathered all my weed and pipes and bongs and drug paraphernalia and got rid of it. I also ripped up my collection of occult books. No where near 50,000 pieces of silver but probably around 5 or 6 hundred dollars. I also got rid of all my music. Stones, Zeplin, Hendrix, a collection close to 250 albums. I also looked through my hundred or so Rolling Stone Magazines and sorted out all the full page music ads that had a spiritual theme. I was amazed at the amount of ads.   

j. pieces of silver [Strong: 694. argurion ar-goo'-ree-on neuter of a presumed derivative of 696; silvery, i.e. (by implication) cash; specially, a silverling (i.e. drachma or shekel):--money, (piece of) silver (piece).]
