When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

1). This passage (Matthew 27:57-60), referring to Jesus being buried in a rich man’s tomb is a fulfillment of a Messianic passage in Isaiah 53.


a). Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.


b). He made his grave with the wicked when he became our sin.


c). 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
