Haggai 2:6
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

1. “For thus saith the LORD of hosts…”
a. [the] heavens [Strong: 8064 shamayim shaw-mah'-yim; dual of an unused singular shameh {shaw-meh'}; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve):--air, X astrologer, heaven(-s).]

1). The KJV is clumsy in this verse compared with the other translations. When this verse is quoted in Hebrews, the writer of Hebrews who I presume to be Paul, is more in line with the other translations. All the other translations except the KJV and the Septuagint agree and the Hebrew backs it up that the verse is referring to a second shaking. And even in the KJV the New Testament citation of this verse in Hebrews 12:26, 27 corrects what the KJV of Haggia leaves out. See below.
3. “…and the sea, and the dry land.”
a. [Strong: 853 'eth ayth apparent contracted from 226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely):--(as such unrepresented in English).]
b. [and the] sea [Strong: 3220 yam yawm; from an unused root meaning to roar; a sea (as breaking in noisy surf) or large body of water; specifically (with the article), the Mediterranean Sea; sometimes a large river, or an artifical basin; locally, the west, or (rarely) the south:--sea (X -faring man, (-shore)), south, west (-ern, side, -ward).]
c. [and the] dry land [Strong: 2724 charabah khaw-raw-baw'; feminine of 2720; a desert:--dry (ground, land).]
1). The KJV is clumsy in this verse compared with the other translations. When this verse is quoted in Hebrews, the writer of Hebrews who I presume to be Paul, is more in line with the other translations.
a). Hebrews 12:26, 27 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
b). The phrase used in the passage, “Yet once more” sets this shaking apart from all other passages using the terminology of the “shaking of the heavens and earth”. In Hebrews 12:27 the inspired writer of Hebrews says the phrase “Yet once more” signifies that the things which are shaken will be removed. In Haggai 2:6 he said the heavens and the earth were shaken, so that means the heavens and the earth will be removed. The only time I know of where the heavens and the earth will be removed is during the Great White Throne Judgment.
(1). Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”
c). After the Great White Throne Judgment the new heavens and the new earth appear, but it is clear that the heavens and the earth that existed before the Great White Throne Judgment are gone.
(1). Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
d). The last four verses of Haggai mentions the shaking of the heavens also, but the context there also fits more with the final removal of rebellion at the end of the Millennium as Haggai 2:6 & Hebrews 12:26, 27 point toward.
(1) Haggai 2:20-23 And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
2:21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
2:22 And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
2:23 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
e). My opinion from this study of Haggai 2:6, in conjunction with Hebrews 12:26, 27 reveal that the context speaks of the New Jerusalem, but just with this single verse, i.e., Haggai 2:6.
