And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

1). This word is used in a number of passages referring to burnt offerings, which is the reason for its translations in the ESV, NASB 95, Classic Amplified, and the YLT, that I posted above.

a). Deuteronomy 33:10  They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice H3632 upon thine altar.

b). 1 Samuel 7:9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly H3632 unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

c). Psalm 51:19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole H3632 burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

d). Leviticus 6:23 For every meat offering for the priest shall be wholly burnt: H3632 it shall not be eaten.

1). Many of the archaeology sites in the Holy land are called Tel. An example is Tel Megiddo. They are literally just heaps or hills of archaeology debris.    

e. forever [Strong: 5769 ʻôwlâm, o-lawm'; or עֹלָם ʻôlâm; from H5956; properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always:—alway(-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, (n-)) ever(-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end).]
