Malachi 3:11

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

2. “…and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground…”

a. 1). This is one of the promised blessings to Israel for their obedience in tithing. Under the Old Covenant the Jews did not have the authority to rebuke the devil.

a. ). Matthew 9:32, 33 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

9:33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

b). Matthew 8:27 But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

c). Matthew 9:8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

2). Under the New Covenant we do.

a). Ephesians 1:19-22 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

1:20 Which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.

1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.

b). Under the New Covenant in Christ, I have the authority to rebuke the devil. Why would I rely on an Old Covenant promise when I have so much more authority in Christ.

c). This is one of the elements of Malachi 3:8-10 that is different, with less authority and blessing than the elements of the New Covenant.

3. “…neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field…”

c. cast her fruit [Strong: 7921 shakol shaw-kole' a primitive root; properly, to miscarry, i.e. suffer abortion; by analogy, to bereave (literally or figuratively):--bereave (of children), barren, cast calf (fruit, young), be (make) childless, deprive, destroy, X expect, lose children, miscarry, rob of children, spoil.] 

d. [before the time in the] field [Strong: 7704 sadeh saw-deh' or saday {saw-dah'-ee}; from an unused root meaning to spread out; a field (as flat):--country, field, ground, land, soil, X wild.]

4. “…saith the LORD of hosts.”

a. saith [Strong: 559 'amar aw-mar' a primitive root; to say (used with great latitude):--answer, appoint, avouch, bid, boast self, call, certify, challenge, charge, + (at the, give) command(-ment), commune, consider, declare, demand, X desire, determine, X expressly, X indeed, X intend, name, X plainly, promise, publish, report, require, say, speak (against, of), X still, X suppose, talk, tell, term, X that is, X think, use (speech), utter, X verily, X yet.] 

b. [he ]LORD [Strong: 3068 Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.] 

c. [of] hosts [Strong: 6635 tsaba' tsaw-baw' or (feminine) tsbadah {tseb-aw-aw'}; from 6633; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized for war (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship):--appointed time, (+) army, (+) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war(-fare).]
