T.]

j. you [Strong: 5213 humin hoo-min' irregular dative case of 5210; to (with or by) you:--ye, you, your(-selves).]

1). We are commanded to work, to have a job. Labor is an institution created by God, not man. In fact, labor as an institution was created before man.

a). Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God had created and made.

b). Since the act of creating is a “work”, a “labor”, when God created the angels, which was before he created the heavens and the earth, the institution of labor was created before the earth was created.

c). One of the reasons for the creation of money as it relates to man is revealed in the next verse.
