Ephesians 6:10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

a. NLT: A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

c. YLT: As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might;

1. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord…”

a. Finally [Strong: 3063 loipon loy-pon' neuter singular of the same as 3062; something remaining (adverbially):--besides, finally, furthermore, (from) henceforth, moreover, now, + it remaineth, then.]

b. my [Strong: 3450 mou moo the simpler form of 1700; of me:--I, me, mine (own), my.]

c. brethren [Strong: adephos ad-el-fos' from 1 (as a connective particle) and delphus (the womb); a brother (literally or figuratively) near or remote (much like 1):--brother.]

d. be strong [Strong: 1743 endunamoo en-doo-nam-o'-o from 1722 and 1412; to empower:--enable, (increase in) strength(-en), be (make) strong.] [Outline of Biblical Usage to be strong, endue with strength, strengthen, to receive strength, be strengthened, increase in strength, in a bad sense be bold, headstrong.]

1). Paul has already instructed the Ephesian church that God wants them and all of the body of Christ in every generation to get a revelation of how we were raised up with Christ. We need to be strong in the Lord and in what he has accomplished for us.

a). Ephesians 1:15-23 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all saints,

1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

1:23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

2. “…and in the power of his might.”

d. power [Strong: 2904 kratos krat'-os perhaps a primary word; vigor ("great") (literally or figuratively):--dominion, might(-ily), power, strength.] [Thayer: force, strength power, might: mighty with great power, a mighty deed, a work of power, dominion.]

e. of his [Strong: 846 autos ow-tos' from the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative 1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]

f. might [2479  ischus is-khoos' from a derivative of is (force; compare eschon, a form of 2192); forcefulness (literally or figuratively):--ability, might(-ily), power, strength.] [Thayer: ability, force, strength, might.]

1). Paul exhorts us to be strong in the Lord and in his might. The following verses instruct us how we can accomplish it.
