Matthew 8:15

And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

1. “And he touched her hand, and the fever left her…”

a. And [Strong: 2532 kai kahee apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

b. [he] touched [Strong: 680. haptomai hap'-tom-ahee reflexive of 681; properly, to attach oneself to, i.e. to touch (in many implied relations):--touch.]

i. left [Strong: 863. aphiemi af-ee'-ay-mee from 575 and hiemi (to send; an intensive form of eimi, to go); to send forth, in various applications (as follow):--cry, forgive, forsake, lay aside, leave, let (alone, be, go, have), omit, put (send) away, remit, suffer, yield up.]

1). In Mark’s account there is almost no difference.

a). Mark 1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lift her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

2). But in Luke’s account, Jesus first rebuked the fever.

a). Luke 4:39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

b). rebuked [Strong: 2008. epitimao ep-ee-tee-mah'-o from 1909 and 5091; to tax upon, i.e. censure or admonish; by implication, forbid:--(straitly) charge, rebuke.]  

3). The power and authority over sickness, disease and devils was given to Jesus when he was baptized in the holy Ghost.

a). Luke 4:14-21 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

4:15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

b). Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

d. Ministered [Strong: 1247. diakoneo dee-ak-on-eh'-o from 1249; to be an attendant, i.e. wait upon (menially or as a host, friend, or (figuratively) teacher); technically, to act as a Christian deacon:--(ad-)minister (unto), serve, use the office of a deacon.]
