Romans 14:1

Romans 14:1

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

1. “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye…”
a. [Him that is] weak [Strong: 770 astheneo as-then-eh'-o from 772; to be feeble (in any sense):--be diseased, impotent folk (man), (be) sick, (be, be made) weak.]
b. in the [Strong: 3588 ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.]
c. faith [Strong: 4102 pistis pis'-tis from 3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:--assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.]
d. receive [ye] [Strong: 4355  proslambano pros-lam-ban'-o from 4314 and 2983; to take to oneself, i.e. use (food), lead (aside), admit (to friendship or hospitality):--receive, take (unto).]
2. “...but not to doubtful disputations.”

a. but [Strong: 1161 de deh a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).]
b. not [Strong: 1161 me may a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas 3756 expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas 3756 expects an affirmative one)) whether:--any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without. Often used in compounds in substantially the same relations.]

e. disputations [Strong: 1253 diakrisis dee-ak'-ree-sis from 1252; judicial estimation:--discern(-ing), disputation.]
