But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

1. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars…”

1). Of all the examples where this word is used, the most convicting is found in the gospels .
a). Matthew 17:14-17 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
17:16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
b). Mark 9:17-19 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
9:18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
9:19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
2). The faithless description was not made of the world but of his disciples. After Jesus cast out the devil and healed the child, his disciples asked him why they could not cast them out and he replied that they do not have a prayer or fasting life.
a). Mark 9:28, 29 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

h. murderers [Strong: 5406. phoneus fon-yooce' from 5408; a murderer (always of criminal (or at least intentional) homicide; which 443 does not necessarily imply; while 4607 is a special term for a public bandit):--murderer.]

j. whoremongers [Strong: 4205. pornos por'-nos from pernemi (to sell; akin to the base of 4097); a (male) prostitute (as venal), i.e. (by analogy) a debauchee (libertine):--fornicator, whoremonger.] [Zodhiates: to sell, which is from perao (n.f.), to pass through, carry over (particularly as merchants) and thence to sell, which in the N.T. appears piprasko (4097). A whoremonger or male prostitute.] [Thayer: a man who prostitutes his body to another’s lust for hire, a male prostitute.] [Vines: denotes a man who indulges in fornication.] [Bullinger: a sodomite, a catamite.]
1). Four of the five Greek Dictionaries that I have define the word as a homosexual prostitute. On a side note, this Greek word is where we get the prefix to the compound English word, pornography. Actually the word graph is also of Greek origin.
