I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

1). Jimmy Swaggart: John was banished to the isle of Patmos, which was a small rocky isle of the western coast of Asia Minor about 30 miles southwest of Ephesus. Patmos was  a rock quarry island about 6 miles wide and ten miles long. It was an ideal place for the confinement of political prisoners. It is probable that John labored in the rock queries alongside of the rogues and slaves of the empire. They often had to chip out materials for pagan temples and state edifices.
