Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

1. “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God…”
a. [The] secret [things belong] [Strong: 5641 cathar saw-thar' a primitive root; to hide (by covering), literally or figuratively:--be absent, keep close, conceal, hide (self), (keep) secret, X surely.]
b. [unto the] LORD [Strong: 3068 Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]
c. [our] God [Strong: 430 'elohiym el-o-heem' plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.]
1). The Scriptures clearly make a distinction between what is secret to the LORD and what is revealed to us. There are things that have not been revealed to us and perhaps never will or perhaps will have to wait unto heaven. There also things that God had previously hid under the Old Covenant but have been revealed under the New Covenant.
a). Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
(1) This verse was quoted by the Apostle Paul when explaining that many of the things veiled under the Old Covenant have now been unveiled under the New Covenant.
(a) 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
2. “…but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever…”
a. 1). This includes the wisdom revealed in the parables of Jesus, things that were kept secret since the creation of the earth.
a). Matthew 13:34, 35 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
2). It includes of course the whole plan of redemption, that was mapped out and planed by the three Persons of the Triune Godhead before the creation of the earth.
a). 1 Peter 1:18-20 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.
3). By the commandment of God, the New Covenant, that had been previously hidden under the Old Covenant, indeed since the creation of the world, has now been revealed, and it is God’s will that we be established in it.
a). Romans 16:25, 26 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
4). The Apostle Paul prayed that the church would get a revelation of the power that was given to us at the resurrection of Jesus Christ so that we would walk in it.
a). Ephesians 1:15-23 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
5). The end result matches perfectly what the next phrase of Deuteronomy 29:29 declares.
3. “…that we may do all the words of this law.”
