Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

1. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life…”

a. 2. “…in thy presence is fulness of joy…”

b. [is] fullness [Strong: 7648 sôbaʻ, so'-bah; from H7646; satisfaction (of food or [figuratively] joy):—fill, full(-ness), satisfying, be satisfied.]

c. [of] joy [Strong: 8057 simchâh, sim-khaw'; from H8056; blithesomeness or glee, (religious or festival):—× exceeding(-ly), gladness, joy(-fulness), mirth, pleasure, rejoice(-ing).]

3. “…at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

a. [at thy] right hand [Strong: 3225 yâmîyn, yaw-meen'; from H3231; the right hand or side (leg, eye) of a person or other object (as the stronger and more dexterous); locally, the south:— left-handed, right (hand, side), south.]

1). Being seated at the right hand of God is a place of authority for the New Covenant believer. Because of Jesus death and resurrection, when we get born again we become seated at the right hand of God. We are positionally seated in heavenly places at the right hand of God. The image of us seated in heavenly places in Christ is not, God the Father, then God the Son Jesus and then a whole bunch of chairs where we sit. That is not it. It’s God the Father and next to Him, God the Son Jesus and we are IN Christ. That’s it!

a).  Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 

2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together, and made us sit together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 

2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together, in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

2). The Apostle Paul prayed for the church to get a revelation of the authority that was given to us when Christ was raised from the dead and was seated at the right hand of God.

a). Ephesians 1:15-23 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love unto all the saints,

1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

1:23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

b. there are pleasures [Strong: 5273 nâʻîym, naw-eem'; from H5276; delightful (objective or subjective, literal or figurative):—pleasant(-ure), sweet.] 

1). According to Blue Letter Bible, this Hebrew word is used 13 times in the Old Testament. The one most applicable to our study is found in the same Psalm. The Hebrew word is translated “pleasant”.

a). Psalm 16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

b). Psalm 16:6 is referring to our inheritance as is also verse 11. The pleasures are what is contained in our inheritance because of Christ.

c. [for] evermore [Strong: 5331 netsach, neh'-tsakh; or נֵצַח nêtsach; from H5329; properly, a goal, i.e. the bright object at a distance travelled towards; hence (figuratively), splendor, or (subjectively) truthfulness, or (objectively) confidence; but usually (adverbially), continually (i.e. to the most distant point of view):—alway(-s), constantly, end, (+ n-) ever(more), perpetual, strength, victory.

1). The Hebrew reveals that the pleasures of our inheritance will be for “evermore”, for eternity.
