Numbers 16:35

And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

a. NLT: Then fire blazed forth from the LORD and burned up the 250 men who were offering incense.

b. NIV: And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

c. YLT: And fire hath come out from Jehovah, and consumeth the two hundred and fifty men bringing near the perfume.

1. “And there came out a fire from the LORD…”

a. 1). The same Hebrew wording is used in Leviticus 10 when two of Aaron’s sons were struck dead by the LORD when they offered strange fire before the LORD.

a). Leviticus 10:1, 2 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
10:2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

2. “…and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.”

c. and fifty [Strong: 2572 chamishshiym kham-ish-sheem' multiple of 2568; fifty:--fifty.]

f. incense [Strong: 7004 qtoreth ket-o'-reth from 6999; a fumigation:--(sweet) incense, perfume.]
