1. “Who humbleth
himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”
a. Who humbleth [himself] [Strong: 8213 shaphel shaw-fale' a primitive
root; to depress or sink (expec. figuratively, to humiliate, intransitive or
transitive):--abase, bring (cast, put) down, debase, humble (self), be (bring,
lay, make, put) low(-er).]
b. to behold [Strong: 7200 ra'ah raw-aw' a primitive root; to see,
literally or figuratively (in numerous applications, direct and implied, transitive,
intransitive and causative):--advise self, appear, approve, behold, X
certainly, consider, discern, (make to) enjoy, have experience, gaze, take
heed, X indeed, X joyfully, lo, look (on, one another, one on another, one upon
another, out, up, upon), mark, meet, X be near, perceive, present, provide,
regard, (have) respect, (fore-, cause to, let) see(-r, -m, one another), shew
(self), X sight of others, (e-)spy, stare, X surely, X think, view, visions.]
c. [the things that are in] heaven [Strong: 8064 shamayim shaw-mah'-yim
dual of an unused singular shameh {shaw-meh'}; from an unused root meaning to
be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in
which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial
bodies revolve):--air, X astrologer, heaven(-s).]
d. [and in the] earth [Strong: 776 'erets eh'-rets from an unused root
probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land):--X
common, country, earth, field, ground, land, X natins, way, + wilderness,
world.]
1). He beholds the things in the earth, namely His people and what He
wants to do for them.
a). Psalm 113:7-9 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the
needy out of the dunghill;
113:8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his
people.
113:9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother
of children. Praise ye the Lord.
