Hebrews 10:2

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

a. NLT: If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.

  

b. NIV: Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.

c. YLT: Since, would they not have ceased to be offered, because of those serving having no more conscience of sins, having once been purified?

d. Amplified Bible Classic: For if it were otherwise, would [these sacrifices] not have stopped being offered? Since the worshipers had once for all been cleansed, they would no longer have any guilt or consciousness of sin.

e. Peshitta Eastern Text: For if they had once been perfected, they would have ceased from their offerings, for from henceforth their minds would not have driven them into the sins from which they had once been cleansed.

1. “For then would they not have ceased to be offered…”

a.  For then [Strong: 1893 epeí, ep-i'; from G1909 and G1487; thereupon, i.e. since (of time or cause):—because, else, for that (then, -as much as), otherwise, seeing that, since, when.]

b. would they [Strong: 302 án, an; a primary particle, denoting a supposition, wish, possibility or uncertainty:—(what-, where-, wither-, who-)soever. Usually unexpressed except by the subjunctive or potential mood.]

d. have ceased [Strong: 3973 paúō, pow'-o; a primary verb ("pause"); to stop (transitively or intransitively), i.e. restrain, quit, desist, come to an end:—cease, leave, refrain.]

e. to be offered [Strong: 4374 prosphérō, pros-fer'-o; from G4314 and G5342 (including its alternate); to bear towards, i.e. lead to, tender (especially to God), treat:—bring (to, unto), deal with, do, offer (unto, up), present unto, put to.]

  

2. “...because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”

e. purged [Strong: 2508 kathaírō, kath-ah'-ee-ro; from G2513; to cleanse, i.e. (specially) to prune; figuratively, to expiate:—purge.]

  

g. should have had [Strong: 2192 échō, ekh'-o; a primary verb; to hold (used in very various applications, literally or figuratively, direct or remote; such as possession; ability, contiuity, relation, or condition):—be (able, × hold, possessed with), accompany, + begin to amend, can(+ -not), × conceive, count, diseased, do + eat, + enjoy, + fear, following, have, hold, keep, + lack, + go to law, lie, + must needs, + of necessity, + need, next, +recover, + reign, + rest, + return, × sick, take for, + tremble, + uncircumcised, use.]
