Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him,

1. “Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him,”

o. besought [Strong: 3870. parakaleo par-ak-al-eh'-o from 3844 and 2564; to call near, i.e. invite, invoke (by imploration, hortation or consolation):--beseech, call for, (be of good) comfort, desire, (give) exhort(-ation), intreat, pray.]

1). Two years went by and this conspiracy to kill Paul was still active.

a). Acts 24:27  But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

b). Acts 25:1-3 Now when Festus had entered into his own province, after three days he went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem.

25:2 And there the chief priests and the principal men of the Jews laid charges before him against Paul, and they kept begging and urging him,

25:3 Asking as a favor that he would have him brought to Jerusalem; [meanwhile] they were planning an ambush to slay him on the way.
