Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1. “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.”

1). Perry Stone: Christ took away our sins, The imagery in this passage comes from the Old Testament ritual involving a scapegoat on the Day of Atonement. The High Priest laid his hands upon the goat’s head, symbolically transferring sin to the goat. The goat would later be released from the camp and “carry the sins” from the Temple to the wilderness, where it was pushed off a cliff by a priest. In the New Testament, Christ, who knew no sin, became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). This “sin transfer” occurred when Christ was praying in the garden and His sweat became as blood (Luke 22:44). He bore our sins and carried them to the cross, where sin’s dominion and influence were defeated in our lives (Colossians 2:14, 15).
