And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

1). Perry Stone: Those who believe in a post-tribulation gathering together [rapture, D.C.] use verse 31, where Christ sends angels with a great trumpet to gather his “elect” from the four winds, and identify the “elect” with the Church. They emphasize the “great sound of a trumpet” , comparing it to Paul’s revelation of the “trump of God” that sounds when the dead are raised at Christ’s second coming (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). However, the elect of verse 31 are the jewish survivors of the Tribulation who are scattered throughout the earth and who will be assembled in jerusalem. Isaiah wrote concerning this event: Isaiah 27:13 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.”
