Acts 9:31
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
a. After Saul was sent to Tarsus, the Scriptures say the churches throughout Judea, Samaria and Galilee were edified and comforted. Part of that was because their number one human enemy was no longer their enemy and was one of them.
1). Galatians 1:21-24 “Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
And they glorified God in me.”
b. Acts 9:31 shows that Judea, Samaria and Galilee had been evangelized by this time for there were churches in all of them. It shows that they were in obedience to the Lord’s command before his ascension.
1). Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
