And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

p. no [man] [Strong: 3367. medeis may-dice', including the irregular feminine medemia may-dem-ee'-ah, and the neuter meden may-den' from 3361 and 1520; not even one (man, woman, thing):--any (man, thing), no (man), none, not (at all, any man, a whit), nothing, + without delay.]
1). Stanley M. Horton in his book Acts of the Apostles, page 117, note 6. “Some see a contradiction here between Acts 9:7 and 22:9…The Greek construction is different in 22:9 however. Here in Acts 9:7 it simply says they heard the sound.”
a). Acts 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
2). Some suggest it was the sound of Saul’s voice they heard but not the voice of Jesus. While others say they heard the voice of Jesus but did not know what was said. Along that school of thought, a note in my Bible pointed me to this reference.
a). John 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word.”
b). Personally I lean toward the school of thought, that they heard Paul speaking to someone but could not see who.
