1). The picture on earth was a solemn and fitting one. But we must contrast it with the picture in heaven. The Scripture declares that Jesus, who sits at the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 10:12), was standing when Stephen was martyred (Acts 7:55, 56). The Scripture says that when one comes to Christ, getting born again, becoming a new creature, that heaven rejoices (Luke 15:7). I am fully persuaded that there is similar rejoicing when they enter heaven.
