Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

1.”Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”

a. Blessed [Strong: 3107. makarios mak-ar'-ee-os a prolonged form of the poetical makar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, well off:-- blessed, happy(X -ier).]

b. [are] they that [Strong: 3588. [hoi] ὁ ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.] [Thayer: [hoi] ὁ, ἡ, τό, originally τος, τῇ, τό (as is evident from the forms τοι, ται for οἱ, αἱ in Homer and the Ionic writings), corresponds to our definite article the (German der, die, das), which is properly a demonstrative pronoun, which we see in its full force in Homer, and of which we find certain indubitable traces also in all kinds of Greek prose, and hence also in the N. 3). Meaning of comfort: The word comfort comes from two latin words meaning “with strength” (same as fortify or fortress) Greek means “to sit down near”.

4). God is not against us, He is for us: 2 Corinthians 1:3; Romans 8:26, 32, 34; 1 Samuel 30:6; The Word is a comfort Romans 15:4, 5; The Holy Spirit is a comfort John 14:16;  Other saints are a comfort 2 Corinthians 1:3; Comfort and Joy is also strength Nehemiah 8:10; Mourning and joy make us more like Jesus Psalm 30:5; Psalm 126:5 Psalm 56:8.
