And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

1). There were three churches that were mentioned in Macedonia, Philippi, Thessalonica and Berea. Paul wrote in Philippians 4 that the saints in Philippi sent two offerings to him while he was in Thessalonica (Philippians 4:15-18). In this very epistle (2 Corinthians), Paul highlighted the God inspired giving of the Macedonian churches. At least two but probably all three.

a). 2 Corinthians 8:1-4 [Classic Amplified] We want to tell you further, brethren, about the grace (the favor and spiritual blessing) of God which has been evident in the churches of Macedonia [arousing in them the desire to give alms];

8:2 For in the midst of an ordeal of severe tribulation, their abundance of joy and their depth of poverty [together] have overflowed in wealth of lavish generosity on their part.

8:3 For, as I can bear witness, [they gave] according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability; and [they did it] voluntarily,

8:4 Begging us most insistently for the favor and the fellowship of contributing in this ministration for [the relief and support of] the saints [in Jerusalem].
