And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

1). This word is used in the confession that the Jews were to give when they offered the firstfruits (Deuteronomy 26). The Jewish translation has a different interpretation in who is is referring to; the English translation says it is referring to Jacob but the Jewish translation says it is referring to Laban.
