1). As established
before, the princes of this world are angelic powers.
a). Daniel 10:20,
21Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return
to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of
Grecia shall come.
10:21 But I will
shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that
holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
2). Even the devil is called by Jesus, the
prince of this world.
a). John 14:30

and hath nothing in me.

c. they [Strong: 302.

1). We must
remember that the plan of redemption that included that Jesus would die is
older than the earth. The quoting of 1 Peter 1:18-20 in the previous verse
study confirms it. I personally believe
it was planned out even before the angels were created. Whether that is true or
not, it is at least older than the earth. Peter on the Day of Pentecost
referred to it as “the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God.”
a). Acts 2:23 Him,
being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have
taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
2). Although it
was man who carried out the actual crime, it was wicked spirits who worked
behind the veil inside man to motivate the participants.
a). John 13:2 And
supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot,
Simon's son, to betray him;
b). Ephesians 2:2,
3 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in
the children of disobedience:
2:3 Among whom
also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the
children of wrath, even as others.
3). This verse
shows that the devil was completely outsmarted by God.
