Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

a. NLT: But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.

b. NIV: Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

c. YLT: but to what we have come -- by the same rule walk, the same thing think;

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that.

e. Worrell Translation: Nevertheless, whereuntowe advanced, by the same rule let us walk.

f. Wuest Translation: Only one thing, as far as we have come, let us keep our lives on the same path.

1. “Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule…”

a. Nevertheless [Strong: 4133 plen plane from 4119; moreover (besides), i.e. albeit, save that, rather, yet:--but (rather), except, nevertheless, notwithstanding, save, than.]

b. whereunto [Strong: 1519 eis ice a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases:--(abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), ...ward, (where-)fore, with. Often used in composition with the same general import, but only with verbs (etc.) expressing motion (literally or figuratively).]

to reach, attain to.]

e. [let us] walk [Strong: 4748 stoicheo stoy-kheh'-o from a derivative of steicho (to range in regular line); to march in (military) rank (keep step), i.e. (figuratively) to conform to virtue and piety:--walk (orderly).]

f. by the same [Strong: 846 autos ow-tos' from the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative 1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]

g. rule [Strong: 2583 kanon kan-ohn' from kane (a straight reed, i.e. rod); a rule ("canon"), i.e. (figuratively) a standard (of faith and practice); by implication, a boundary, i.e. (figuratively) a sphere (of activity):--line, rule.]

1). The bottom line is we need to continue to walk in the light that was revealed to us.

a). 2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2. “…let us mind the same thing.”

a. let us mind [Strong: 5426 phroneo fron-eh'-o from 5424; to exercise the mind, i.e. entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; by implication, to be (mentally) disposed (more or less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively, to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience):--set the affection on, (be) care(-ful), (be like-, + be of one, + be of the same, + let this) mind(-ed), regard, savour, think.]

1). Three times in this epistle alone, aside from this one, Paul exhorts us to be of the same mind.

a). Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

b). Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

c). Philippians 4:2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
