[Strong: irregular dative case of 5210; to (with or by) you:--ye, you,

[Strong: from 5087; a deposit, i.e. wealth (literally or
figuratively):--treasure.]
e. in [1722 * en] [Strong: a primary
preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by

separate (and different) preposition.]
f. heaven [3772 * ouranos] [Strong: perhaps
from the same as 3735 (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension,
heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity;

1). We lay up treasure in heaven by
giving to the poor.
a). Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him,
If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell
that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:
and come and follow
me.
2. “…where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt…”

no earthly threat can affect it. Not man or earthly corruption.
a). Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and
give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens
that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
b). The word “bags” means a purse. We
can make purses in heaven that will not fail because of earthly reasons.
2). When laying up treasures in heaven
we are preparing for the future. We have a heavenly bank account.
a). 1 Timothy 6:17-19 Charge them that
are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain
riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
6:18 That they do good, that they be
rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
6:19 Laying up in store for themselves
a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal
life.
b). Philippians 4:15-17 Now ye
Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed
from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and
receiving, but ye only.
4:16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent
once and again unto my necessity.
4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but
I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
3). By giving I am opening the door for
others to give to me in the future.
a). Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be
given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running
over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete
withal it shall be measured to you again.
4). We are to make eternal friends with
the mammon of unrighteousness.
a). Luke 16:9 [Amplified Bible] And I
tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous mammon (deceitful
riches, money, possessions), so that when it fails, they [those you have
favored] may receive and welcome you into the everlasting
habitations (dwellings).
3. “…and where thieves do not

when, + without, + yet but.]
f. nor [3761 * oude] [Strong: from
3756 and 1161; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even:--neither (indeed),

as), + nothing, so much as.]
g. steal [2813 * klepto] [Strong: a
primary verb; to filch:--steal.]
