Romans 9:29
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had
left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
1. “And as Esaias said before…”
a. And [Strong: 2532 kai kahee apparently,

4253 and 2046; used as alternate of 4277; to say already, predict:--foretell,
say (speak, tell) before.]
2. “…Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed…”
a. Except [Strong: 1508 ei me

than, save (only) that, saving, till.]
b. [the] Lord [Strong: 2962 kurios koo'-ree-os from
kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by
implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]
c. [of] Sabaoth [Strong: 4519 sabaoth sab-ah-owth' of
Hebrew origin (6635 in feminine plural); armies; sabaoth (i.e. tsebaoth), a
military epithet of God:--sabaoth.]

1722 and 2641; to leave behind in some place, i.e. (in a good sense) let remain
over, or (in a bad sense) to desert:--forsake, leave.]

3. “…we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto
Gomorrha.”

primary particle, denoting a supposition, wish, possibility or
uncertainty:--(what-, where-, wither-, who-)soever. Usually unexpressed except
by the subjunctive or potential mood.]

used, as follows):--about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were),

of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of
cucumbers, as a besieged city.
1:9 Except the Lord of
hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and
we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
