But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

Isaiah bitterly deplored this condition (Isaiah 9:20), but now under the rule of the Messiah the former jealously and rancor will vanish, and the much hoped for unity of all Israel will become a blessed reality. Thus united and redeemed, Israel will fine a new security against her ancient foes, and the enemies of the Lord.
