Acts 14:5
And when there was an assault made both of the
Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and
to stone them,

The poisoning of the minds of the Gentiles, the Jews and with the civil
authorities continued to build until a violent act was concocted.

The devil hates the gospel, he hates God, and he hates all people, but especially
those who want to spread the gospel. This persecution was mentioned by Paul in
2 Timothy.
