Genesis 17:8
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the
land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting
possession; and I will be their God.

It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”

h. The promise of the land was
given before.

that I will shew thee:
2). Genesis 13:14, 15 And the LORD
said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes,
and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward,
and westward:
13:15 For all the land which thou
seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
3). Genesis 15:18-21 In the same
day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given
this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
15:19 The Kenites, and the
Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
15:20 And the Hittites, and the
Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
15:21 And the Amorites, and the
Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
i. The fact it is an everlasting
covenant is reinforced in the Psalms.
1). Psalm 105:6-11 O ye seed of
Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
105:7 He is the Lord our
God: his judgments are in all the earth.
105:8 He hath remembered his
covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
105:9 Which covenant he made with
Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
105:10 And confirmed the same unto
Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
105:11 Saying, Unto thee will I
give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
